I've come to the conclusion

Okay so I've come to the conclusion that I am just not ever going to be the pile of bones I was when I graduated High School. 98 lbs soaking wet I was....Strange thing, you can always see it in my face and my neck...how strange is that?

And I'm not ever going to be the little thing I was in College....105lbs. I gained those extra 7lbs because I wasn't playing soccer anymore.

And after the crash of my 1st marriage the 115lb girl is GONE!

And then I got all sexy....or thought I was, HEY I Can pretend, don't judge! And I was 110lbs then!

Then I moved to Michigan, new friends, new life, new me, cut the hair, did some soul searching.... got real comfy and happy and weighed about 125lbs and I still looked okay. That's me...in the middle....with the tank top. I think that was the last time I was tan....oh how I miss laying in the sun!!

Kara, Erin, Carrie, Amy

And now....well let's just say I don't weight 98, or even 115 or even 125lbs.

But you know what...I'm healthy....relatively speaking.
I will be healthier after my surgery on the 18th.
I'm happy.
I have my two little Miracle boys, which I wouldn't give up for ANYTHING, not even a 98lb hot bod.
And I'm doing the 30 day shred, and I could care less if I lose weight, Okay so that might be a little bit of a lie....if I happened to just lose and never find again 20 lbs, okay I'll take it.
But I want the endurance, I want the stamina to be able to keep up with my boys as they grow. I want to run and jump and play with them and not be winded just running after my toddler. I want my muscles to be healthy and not atrophy or be a breeding ground for cancer cells.
And I don't want to be on the perpetual diet. (And Summer? Dang I have to give you credit...an HOUR EVERY DAY for that px90? Phew! You look great!)

I want my boys to be proud of me, I want to look in the mirror and be proud of myself, and even though I will never be 98lbs again and running in a bikini on the beach flirting it up, I will always be me....a Mom to my babies, a wife to the hubs, daughter to my mother, niece to my aunts and uncles, and a friend to my friends, and at the end of the day they will always be my biggest fans!

Wednesday Writing - A Day in the Life

MamaKat is at it again, and she has a brand new set of prompts this week, head on over to her place to see all the rest of the prompts.

This week I chose to write on Prompt #2

2.) A day in your life...recap.(inspired by Jennifer from Toddler Tirade)

Now this doesn't say whether is a WORK day in the life....or a WEEKEND in the life....so let's do a little of both...But I'm telling you now, it's a LONG day, and you might even get tired just reading it.

6:10 6:45 am - wakeup and sleepily make my way to the TV to do my shred....yes I am doing the 30 day shred and although I'm definitely NOT losing the 20lbs in 30 days it is toning me...or so everyone says. And NO I am not going to post pics....you wouldn't want to see them anyway.

6:50 - 7 am Shower and get dressed while listening to a babbling Christopher and a Jumping in his crib Thomas on their respective monitors

7 - 7:15am I do my hair and makeup Yes it doesn't take me all the long, I don't wear a lot of makeup and I don't do a whole lot to my hair...does that make me boring?

7:15 - 8:00am This time consists of calling my mom, while getting up the boys, getting them dressed, coming out to the living room, making Thomas breakfast, which is usually pannycakes as we call them, and a couple of days he will ask for cereal and then Christopher gets a bottle and then I set them up to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, after they are set I proceed to make their lunches, get milk and juice in their respective containers pack up Thomas' bankie and his Monkey along with the diaper bag and get it all in the car and ready to go. After that I do anything else that I need to get done before we leave....finish my make up, make the bed, throw laundry in the washer/dryer. Try to calm a crying/crawling after mommy Christopher who apparently thinks I am going to leave him at home with no food. Get Thomas' shoes on, FINALLY get them out the door and into the car.

8:10 drop off both boys at Tracy's where they spend a loverly, relaxing, chaotic free, stress free day, learning, watching a movie, reading books, playing outside and playing with toys.

8:20 am arrive at work....work all day long...while blogging intermittently throughout the day since it's been painfully slow and I have the time to comment and read all of my favorite blogs. and then I will work some more, try to avoid falling asleep, but grateful that in today's times I still have a job that pays me decent money.

5pm clock out and RUN not walk to the nearest exit to get to my car to go get my baby boys and go home.

5:30 - 5:40pm arrive home, hand off children to daddy so he can get them changed into their swimming suits so we can get to swim class on time, while I go and get into my swim suit and hope that there are no ensuing tantrums as there were last night about every tiny thing. (Like I am the worst mommy in the world to give my oldest goldfish to snack on before swim class since we can't eat dinner until we get home, so he threw them on the floor and proceeded to have a tantrum.)

5:50 - 6:20pm we swim and learn how to kick and jump off the side and tantrum because we don't want to kick anymore, we just want to hang out on the steps and watch the water filter into the massive filtration system. All the while Christopher is buoyantly floating and having fun with Grandma with occasional kicks here and there....Normally he is a froggy!

6:20 - 6:40pm get both boys changed back into their diapers and clothes and get home so that we can all eat. As said children are starting to get whiney with hunger.

6:45 - 7:15/30 pm make super easy dinner that has already been partially prepared the night before at 9:30 at night with the hubs standing out at the BBQ with flashlight in hand, feed screaming toddler and he doesn't want what is given to him and then wants "tiz" and points across the table and keeps repeating himself over and over and whining and carrying on, on the brink of a tantrum if I dont' realize very quickly that he wants CHEESE, actually he wants MORE "tiz" on his chicken taco. Feed a very hungry, wonderful I will eat anything you give me 10 month old, but if I don't keep shoveling the food in or have something he can pick up and shovel in himself he starts to cry. All the while trying to have adult conversation with the adults in the room. Get said children wiped faces and clean hands....why? I do not know, because it's going to be bath night.

7:15/30 - 7:45/8pm Get Christopher bathed, let him splash around a little, put cream on him and get him in jammies to pass off to Dad so he can then occupy him so he does not turn into the crying, screaming, crawling after mommy 10 month old. Take tantruming Thomas into the bath where he HATES to have his hair washed, and give him a bath with lots of BUBBLES, so he can play and throw toys and water and use the bubbles along with washcloth to clean the shower walls and the sliding bath doors...and if you even remotely mention that you are going to turn on the shower he is all done and wants out.....NOW. Get him in his jammies and bring him out to living room where is allowed to watch his ELMO until it's time for bed.

8 - 8:30pm play on floor with pouting tired Christopher until he can't take it anymore and has to have his bottle and to bed with him. Then Thomas wants to hear ELMO in the background while you read him books. And then Daddy gets his bankie and monkey and Thomas and it's off to bed for Thomas.

8:30 - 11 Now it's time for clean up....clean up toys or whatever else destructo1 and destructo2 have left for us. Clean up from dinner, wash bottles, cups, dishes...you know all the fun stuff. Put away pots and think about what if anything needs to be done for tomorrow. Laundry is sometimes thrown in there and then there is checking my email, if there is something on TV that we want to watch. And then at about 11 or 11:30 I throw myself in bed to do it all over again tomorrow. At least until swim lessons are over next week....then we spend that time trying to keep some sort of peace and try to remain tantrum free between dinner and bedtime by going for walks and going to grandma's and playing in the yard and playing on the floor in the family room.

Bachelorette - I Had to

Okay so I so don't even watch the Bachelorette all season long, well okay that's a lie, I did watch a few, but I tire of it quickly and would rather read everyone else's blog posts on it, and then of course I get all caught up and HAVE to watch the finale....
So I did, I forced the hubs to watch, which he did watch with me for a little bit and he made a couple of comments on the scenery and stuff, helicopter rides and then he retired to the other room.
I just have to say....what is UP with those Shorts ED? Seriously, who wears that? I thought for a moment I was shot back to the early 80's! But Bravo Jillian for being able to look past it, maybe she's making up for humiliating him on a previous episode?
I have to say I never really cared for Reid, but whatever, and the fact that they brought him back rather bored me actually. It's almost as if what he said to her was scripted and all of her emotions were so fake! Did she fan her face when she started to tear up? I can't remember. And to be honest I am surprised that she didn't start sucking face with him right then and there.....I mean why not, she didn't seem to mind with Kyptyn when she KNEW she wasn't going to chose him!
Uggh and WHY would you even WANT to propose to ANYONE who not only do you know she's sucked face with half of those guys but the fact that you knew she slept with a couple of them too....and then spent the last few days before you propose to her kissing some other guy? Okay Okay I know it's a TV SHOW! But dang if I were him and did the show, proposed to her, she accepts and then you go home to live happily ever after and you see the show....you watch her with all those other guys....is it THEN that they split up?
And why is it that it bugs me so much more on the bachelorette than it does on the bachelor? Ahh all those good old fashioned "it's okay for a guy to have a million other "experiences" but the minute a girl has even ONE she's a tramp".
And I just have to say, I really don't think Jillian was all that and a bag of chips. Just sayin...
Okay and so now....tonight....HELL's KITCHEN. I so love to hate that show! And I made the mistake of watching last week and now of course I HAVE to see this week. I know it's not the bachelorette or anything like that....and I sit through it everytime and look at the hubs and say WHY? Why would you put up with anyone talking to you like that? I mean sheesh even the US Military aren't allowed to talk to recruits that way....but the high almighty Chef Gordon Ramsey can talk like that to everyone else and they take it....except that one guy last week...he said "I ain't no body's bitch". Tell me there is someone else who saw that?

Blog Hop - Through a Child's Eyes

My favorite pics of my boys are the closeups that Daddy takes of their faces....I can only imagine what is going on behind those eyes....what their mind is thinking of....and I love to imagine life through a child's eyes.

Another Weekend in Pics

Another wonderful weekend in our household. I know I haven't posted much....only because I've been working on Alicia's daughter's blanket....I'll have pics of that up hopefully at the end of the week! It's proving to be a stubborn one!

So back to the weekend....
Friday night we were able to snag Grandma for babysitting so that we could go to dinner with some friends for a Birthday Dinner, and of course we didn't get any pics, but OMG I ATE SO MUCH! So much for all my workouts!

We got home and this little baby fell right out of the sky! Just learning to fly! I calmed him down and he snoozed for a little bit in my hand, then we put him in a make shift nest and within about 30 minutes he was gone. I hope he made it!

Saturday Christopher attended his 1st birthday party...well aside from his brother's back in May. But both he and Thomas were invited to Jayden's 1st birthday, but Thomas was a little under the weather so he stayed at home.

Here is the birthday boy with Mom and Dad! Happy Birthday Jayden!

Christopher had a blast crawling around on their little mats and stuff. They held the birthday at Jumping Genius and it sure was a perfect place for active little kids!

Thomas and Christopher did a little swinging together. Thomas loves his little swing and he kept asking for "brother" to sit on his lap and "wing" with him.

Mom was worried at first but I went ahead and let him and they both loved it!!

Sunday we hung around at home....we went to Grandma's for an early dinner and while we were there Thomas kept asking for "women" and we couldn't understand him, so we said show me and he walked us to the gate and tried to get us to the pool....and then said "women" and we said OH SWIMMING, you want to go SWIMMING and he looked at us like DUH that is what I said! Well he remembered that Daddy put up the pool at home and it was just the perfect temp. So home we went for a little swimming....Thomas couldn't wait that he didn't even put his suit on, just jumped in with his diaper on. And as you can see our little fish LOVES the water!

Tell me he isn't a happy baby in the water!

Thomas enjoyed going down the "wee" into the water!

And they both loved splashing around! Tomorrow starts "women" lessons! We have 2 weeks of swimming lessons, and let's hope they learn some really valuable stuff!
I hope everyone else had a great weekend too!

Wednesday Writing - My Passion

Brought to you once again by Mama Kat....head on over to her place for all the fun!
I only wrote on one this week, it jumped out at me.....literally! So of course I jumped at the chance to put a few things out there!

The Prompts:

1.) They just don't make (fill in the blank) like they used to!(inspired by Roxanne)
2.) If you had the time and money...what charity would you help raise awareness for?(inspired by Christina...click here to enter her raffle)
A perfect one for me. I have a passion these days for Spirit Jump, It's really a great organization, I have read so many posts on some of the blogs that I follow of people being diagnosed with cancer of all kinds, for prayer requests and such. If you have a chance to go and check it out, sign up to be a spirit jumper, if you know anyone who is suffering from cancer, you can enter their names to receive cards and letters and prayers. They don't have to be terminal, or even you, yourself, if you are suffering from cancer. It's a hard journey to take, it can be scary, for everyone involved, trust me, I know! And Spirit Jump can help!
I also recently became a friend of Maddie...which is fantastic. This little girl, she has the most vibrant smile you will ever see. The organization has just gotten off the ground and it's going to make monumental strides in helping families with NICU babies. I, too, had a NICU baby, Christopher, but I, and he were one of the lucky few....he got to go home after 5 days. He's had subsequent visits to the hospital as well as the ER because of his prematurity but hopefully, in time, he will out grow all that. But there are other families who aren't so lucky....so that is yet another charity that I would like to bring some awareness too!
As we've all read before, I am a huge sap, and I will be the first to be a bleeding heart and give whatever I can to any organization that tugs at my heart strings. But there are a lot of really great charities out there. I give to the ASPCA because I do think that we need to speak for those that can't speak for themselves. I've also donated to the American Heart Association since I have a history of heart disease in my family, and it's becoming more prevelant in women these days! And let's not forget this post, these are just a few of the charities that I would bring MORE awareness too. And if you get the chance....please, stop by Spirit Jump or even Friends of Maddie and check them out!
3.) What are YOU giddy about?(inspired by Heather)
4.)What's on YOUR little kids list?(inspired by Ashley)
5.)Describe what brought you closer to your faith.(inspired by Emily)

Favorite Recipe - Tequila Lime Chicken Tacos

My favorite recipe is Tequila Lime Chicken Tacos with Charred Limes....It is a huge crowd pleaser. The recipe calls for "pounded chicken breasts" but we just make them like normal and shred them up and they come out just as good! I hope y'all enjoy!

Marinade:
Minced zest and juice of 2 medium to large limes
1/4 Cup tequila
1 T. triple sec or other orange flavored liqueur
2 tsp vegetable oil
2 tsp ground dried green chile or green chile seasoning or 1 T minced pickled jalapeno
1/2 tsp salt.
4 medium boneless skinless chicken breasts, pounded 1/4 inch thick
3 to 4 medium limes, sliced into 4 wedges each
Few tablespoons of tequila
vegetable oil

Sauce:
1/2 Cup Mayo
1/2 Cup sour cream
2 T minced fresh cilantro
2 tsp fresh lime juice
1/4 to 1/2 tsp dried ground green chile or green chile seasoning or minced pickled jalapeno to taste
12 corn tortillas (or flour if you prefer)

1. At least 1 hr ahead or up to the night before you plan to grill, prepare marinade. (The longer you marinade the stronger the flavor) Combine the ingredients in a small bowl. Place the chicken breasts in a zippered plastic bag and pour in the marinade. Seal and toss back and forth to coat chicken evenly. Refrigerate.

2. Up to 1 hr ahead place the lime sections on a plate and sprinkle them with the tequila and rub lightly with oil. Let sit at room temp

3. Prepare the sauce, stir together the ingredients in a small bowl and refrigerate until ready to serve.

4. When ready to grill, drain chicken and discard marinade. Let sit uncovered at room temp for about 20 min.

5. Fire up the grill, bringing the heat to medium

6. Grill the chicken uncovered for 6 to 8 min total. Turn onto each side twice. The chicken is done when it is white throughtout but still juicy. Grill the limes alongside the chicken, turning them from time to time so that they soften and develop a bit of char. Warm the tortillas on the edge of the grill and wrap them in a dish towel or foil to keep warm

7. Working quickly pull the chicken into thin shreds and pile it on a platter. Surround with the limes and set a bowl of sauce on the platter. Serve immediately

8. Fold the tortillas, drizzle with sauce, squeeze on some of the warm tequila spiked lime juice and ENJOY!

Another Weekend in Pics

Yet another weekend comes to a close with a lot of wonderful pics to share!

To start with Christopher enjoyed his first piece of corn on the cob....and let me tell you, a child with only 2 bottom teeth....The. kid. can. eat! I couldn't believe how much of that corn he was actually munching off of there!
Not to mention how much he not only ate but proceeded to get all over himself! (sorry for the pic quality, all I had was the cell phone and the light behind us was so bright)
Then on Saturday it was an awful lot of planning....Thomas spent a lot of time on the phone talking to Aunt Tami, she was coming out on Sunday to see him! So while Mom was at the mall shopping with Christopher and Grandma, Thomas was home on the phone, making plans!

Our little blue eyed boy....he had a lot of key chewing to do Saturday afternoon, but I couldn't resist his blue eyes!

Oh yeah and a lot of foot grabbing! We went to Lupe's for dinner that night and Christopher had his 1st taste of some refried beans....I made a mental note, for next time, do not feed 10 month old baby refried beans and expect him to sleep through the night without a dirty diaper! What can I say....he eats, and eats, he is tired of all this pureed baby food, he's ready to EAT but he only has 2 teeth!

Had to get this pic....that is a grasshopper....we had a TON of them all over on Sunday morning...they "hatched" I guess, and they were on the screen door, on Grandma, and they are TINY! I wish I had something next to him to show size....but I didn't want him to hop away! They will disappear into the brush just like the mini preying mantis' we found earlier in the year and they will be back in about a month or so, full grown.....unless the lizards get them first!
Aunt Tami, Uncle Dean and Grandma came out to visit Sunday morning, and that thrilled Thomas, as he had a new color partner! And she brought new crayons! Thanks Aunt Tami! And of course they got all kinds of stuff to spoil them rotten!!

Christopher enjoyed kisses from Bella, (that's Aunt Tami's "Child")....until he smelled her breath...ICK! After that he kept his distance!

Look at my adorable son in this pic...and it was a perfect shot of my hair....it's getting long, I think I need about 4 more inches and I can chop it for Locks of Love!!
And of course we took a ton of pics.....and Thomas enjoyed taking pics with Aunt Tami's "Cheese" which is what he calls a camera!

And Christopher enjoyed being loved on by Aunt Tami! He was giggling up a storm!
So it was another fun filled weekend....we were supposed to go see the concert in the park, but it was so warm, we decided to stay in and enjoy the air conditioning!
I hope everyone else had a great weekend....anyone else do anything fun?

I Hate Surgery....of ANY kind

What a horrible Friday! Normally I LOVE Fridays, I can't wait for the day to be over, I go home and enjoy dinner with my family and I get to spend all weekend long with my adorable boys! And I'm still excited to spend my weekend with them. It's going to be another hot weekend, so we are looking forward to some swimming, and a visit from Grandma S and Aunt Tami, and a concert in the park with a Tribute to Johnny Cash, and we may even get to sneak in a dinner to ourselves!
But I just got the confirm on my surgery date....August 18th, The Hubs bday, what a wonderful way to spend your bday huh? Waiting at a surgery center for your wife to come out looking all nasty, and cut up and knowing me....probably barfing my guts out! (Happy Birthday Babe! lol) And just so everyone knows, this is so not a pitty post, or a "I want sympathy" post or any of that.
But I'm really scared about this surgery. Having it is no problem, I don't even care about the results of it. But I am scared that my boys will be afraid of me when they see Mommy all stitched up (since it's on my face) and looking horrible. I'm scared that they will take one look at me and cry. It's almost like when you have a grandparent or for some, even a parent, who are in their older years and they don't recognize you....brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it!
And since in my last post I told you that I am just stupidly emotional these days, actually more so since I had my boys then I ever was.....I used to be emotional but now I qualify as stupidly emotional... anyway, I digress....I am really worried about the boys reaction to me. Anyone in the world could cringe in horror, they could even scream in my face, tell me I look hideous, I need to wear a bag over my head, and I wouldn't care in the slightest...okay so I might care a teeny tiny bit, but not nearly as much as it would break my heart if that happens with my boys.
Now everyone keeps telling me I'm over reacting, if I don't make a big deal about it they won't. If I tell them Mommy has an owie they will look at it as that, and maybe so....maybe my oldest will just look with that inquisitive look that he gets and he may even want to touch it and say owie....but how do you tell my appendage....err I mean my 10 month old that and have him understand, and what if he starts crying when he sees me and thinks I am not his mommy anymore? Okay so maybe he won't think that, but still....does this make sense to anyone?
And it looks like my mom and I will be on the mend together since she goes in for surgery on the 17th! Well at least I'll have company in my misery! haha

Wednesday Writing

More fun this week over at Mama Kat's, head on over there to catch up with all the fun!

The Prompts:

1.) Ask A Dad! Write a letter asking your husband for advice regarding any issue you might have and record his answer.(inspired by Three Bay B Chicks)
2.) Describe a situation that forced you to confront a neighbor.(inspired by Jori-O)

My Grandpa....he was the best! He died when I was 18, but I am grateful for the time that I got to spend with him. He was the funniest guy you would ever meet. My brother used to say to him all the time "Say something funny Grandpa", and he would, at least it was funny to us!

My grandpa had very little hair, and he used to let me put barettes in his hair and when I would pull them out and take a piece of hair or two he would never complain! He would let us give him a hair cut, and he taught us to say "Shave and a hair cut, ten cents". And I believe he would pay us 10 cents to cut his non existant hair with plastic comb and sissors.

And don't kids say the darndest things...my grandpa would tell me I was his #1 sweetheart and I would tell him he was #5..."you come right behind the dog Grandpa" HAHA NICE!

I remember he was the 1st man in my life to call me Babe!

He NEVER got angry with my brother or I, I never heard him raise his voice. He taught me "ba-ba" which meant it was bad....and now I tell my sons, don't eat that it's Ba-ba!

My grandpa taught us how to make "Adam and Eve on a raft and wreck em". 2 poached eggs on a piece of toast all cut up! I hate eggs now, but still remember he loved to eat that!

I was a picky eater as a child to say the least, and I always wanted to sit in my grandpa's lap after a dinner that I didn't eat because I KNEW that he would always make sure he left some pretty big crumbs on his dessert plate that I could have, even though I didn't eat dinner...and then we would say "it's only crumbs"!

My Grandpa taught me how to play Gin and Gin Rummy...he was the best player, and I KNOW he would let me win on purpose....until I got a little older, and when he would pick the winning card he would put it in his hand and tap it down with his elbow, and he would play and play and play with me, and we'd finally say "one more game, and who ever wins is the best Gin player in the WORLD". And of course he would always let me win!!

I remember he had a coffee can, FULL of change, pennies mostly, but he would let us reach our hand in there and grab as much change as our little hand could hold, and we would dig and dig and find ways to get more and more in our hands and we would try to scoop it out onto the floor so we got a little extra, and the smile on his face, you know that he was just laughing inside at how our little brains worked, thinking we were pulling something over on him!

I could go on and on about my grandpa, I have so many precious and cherished memories! His birthday just passed as well as his anniversary of his marriage to my grandmother, she too was something to remember!!

4.) Which appliance in your home would you most miss living without if you had to live without.(inspired by Amy at Escape Into My Thoughts)
5.) What are three things we would love to know about you!(inspired by Live. Laugh. Pull Your Hair Out)

I just did this a couple of days ago for the blog hop....so let me see if I can come up with 3 more things...then if you read my other post as well as this one, you can learn 6 new things about me...tell me how excited you are?

1.) Okay so I said I am not crafty....and I'm really not, but once I learn something I like to do it over and over and over again, and I LOVE to make these baby blankets. It's almost my traditional baby gift! I've made one for my cousin's daughter, Emerson, isn't she just precious? She just turned TWO!
I also made one for my friend Amanda and her daughter, Peyton! I've made a set for a friend I worked with and her twins, but she never did bring them back to me to embroider their names and birthdates. I also made one for Macayla Okay so she got it a year after her bday...but dang I moved and it was buried...give me a break!
Okay so as I said, I'm not crafty but I so love to make these blankets!

2.) I don't eat meat....I Love chicken and turkey and seafood, but no meat or pork, don't know why, no particular reason, just don't eat it, don't like it, it doesn't agree with me because I haven't eaten it in that long!

3.) I am a huge sap....I'm sensitive, I cry at the drop of a hat, I look at my children and I cry because they are so beautiful and I am so blessed to have them, I cry when I hear a sad story or read a sad post...I wear my heart on my sleeve, and I'm a giver, I want to give all the homeless a home, all the hungry some food, I want a home...a LOVING home for every animal, A loving home for every unwanted child, and if I could I would cure cancer!!!!! As you can see from previous posts, I'm really passionate about this!

Immediate prayer requests....Shannon has a 2 1/2 year old son, she is 5 months pregnant and emergency brain surgery this morning removed a cancerous tumor that is spreading. We are unsure of everything at this point, we don't know if/when chemo or radiation can be done. We don't know the status of the developing baby, and we are unsure of even how long she or the baby may live!
***Update, there is nothing else they can do surgically for Shannon, they want to give her a few more weeks on the pregnancy and take the baby in hopes of survival, and they want to start treatment, and with that they are saying at best she will live a year. So please, keep her and her family in your prayers!

A blankie of strength and courage

It's not quite finished yet, I still need to do a little more work on the edges and such, but the blanket that I talked about in my last post for Blaine is nearly done. Isn't it just adorable? I really hope that it will help Blaine to be strong and make it through his fight for life!

I just love making these blankets! They are so soft, and they come out so cute! And who could ask for anything more than something personalized?

Blog Hoppin' - Getting to know me

Okay some things that you may not know about me....

1.) I HATE....no I don't hate...I LOATHE to shop. Don't get me wrong, I love shopping for OTHER people. But when it comes to me shopping for anything for me....nope, there is always someone else out there that could use something more than me. I do all my clothes shopping in my mom's closet, she's stylish, she's got really nice things, and best of all....I don't have to go find it. I try it on at my mom's house, if it doesn't fit I put it back. No muss, no fuss! I don't have to return anything, I don't have to worry about a receipt....nothing! If I can lose just a little bit more weight, I can fit into some clothes from about 2 years ago that are hardly worn and still in style! What can be better than that?

2.) I am so not a crafy person, I try awful hard....I can come up with a ton of ideas, but actually putting them together is just not me. I can't sew....I can emrboider....and I'm making a blanket right now for little Blaine, I'll have pics of that up in a few days! But to actually SEW...like a straight line....nahh that's a challenge

3.) The hubs has more shoes than I do....or should I say he wears more shoes than I do. I have shoes gallore in the garage....and guess where they all came from...."Mom's Closet" and I don't wear any of them. I wear all of maybe 3 pairs of shoes....I know I'm so not the girly girl!! Ahh well....good thing I have all boys huh?!!

Weekend in Pictures

What a weekend! The warm, I mean HOT summer weather is finally here! Which is nice, it exhausts the kids a little more, they sleep a little sounder....and longer! And the nights are still warm at 11pm.

Saturday we did a little more swimming! Look at my big boy hanging on for dear life.....err I mean swimming all by himself in his little inner tube!!

Christopher did swim....but we didn't get any cute pics of him swimming....but this "how dare you bother me when I am snacking" look was just too good to pass up! He is just a little froggy in the water....we are starting swim classes with both boys at the end of the month....that should prove interesting!

Thomas even loved jumping in from the side....as long as you didn't let him go under he was all set, but the minute that water came up above that mouth/nose level, he. was. MAD!

Sunday we went to see Marie....and her garden! The woman is a plant genius! She is AMAZING! She's my hero when it comes to compost and gardening and all of that. I'll have to do a guest post with "Ask the plant lady" she knows it all....from the nitrogen and hydrogen and oxygen stuff that needs to be in the soil and compost pile to get just the right mixture....it's amazing!!

The hubs is currently in the planning stage of a garden for next year! It's going to be fun!! But take a look at these SUN FLOWERS!! Can we all say HOLY COW??? They are bigger than her house!!!

I mean just look at this sucker! That was bigger than my hand!! AMAZING!! And so gorgeous!

Chloe teaching Thomas all about the garden, she showed me the jalapenos and tomatoes they are growing, she showed me the cucumbers and the squash!

And here's Thomas checking out the compost pile, let's hope when our compost pile gets a little bigger he doesn't take to playing in it!

Then it was time for a little big wheel riding! One of these days they will be playing crash em up I am sure!

We had a great time relaxing outside....enjoying the evening shade and slightly cooler weather....Marie, the hubs, Benny, Christopher, Thomas, and Marie's hubby Greg! What a perfectly relaxing Sunday!

And this is my wonderful picture that Chloe made me, what an artist....she made sure I took it home and it is now hanging on my refrigerator! Thanks Chloe!!

Hang Ten everyone......I hope everyone had a wonderfully relaxing weekend!!
