Kudos to Grandma

The Ventura Co. Fair has come around again. Hard to believe we took Thomas last year and he was so little!!! Anyway, Grandma had made Thomas a Quilt when he was born, I will post a picture of it as soon as I get it, and she submitted it to the Fair and it took 2ND PLACE!!

As soon as it is "crowned" with it's 2nd place ribbon I will post pictures. Thomas will be so proud of his Grandma!

So KUDOS to Grandma and her quilt making skills! I'll post a picture of the quilt as soon as I get it!

The Greatest Compliment....

I have been meaning to post this on the blog for about a week now and just keep getting side tracked.

As I have gotten older, it has been really important for me to let my mom know just how much she means to me and how I think she is a great mom! I wouldn't change a thing! I have always told her, she is my mom, and I love her, and I will defend her to the death! And despite every argument we ever had, ever adolescent tiff, and every difference of opinion, she is one of the strongest women I know. I am proud to call her mom.

So the greatest compliment I could ever receive is for my mom to say that I am a great mom! So after all these years of thinking that I would never have kids and then convincing myself that even if I did have kids I probably wouldn't be a good mom anyway, hear my mom tell a friend that I am a great mom!

So I thought it was important to share, that to me, that is the greatest compliment I could ever receive!

Rockin' and Rollin' in CA

Just a quick little update....
We are here rockin' and rollin' in CA, don't you just love it? I guess you have to living here!
All is okay, Thomas slept right through the earthquake, what else is new, he slept through his first earthquake when he was about 6 weeks old.
Steven was the closest to the epicenter, it was a 5.8 in Chino Hills, not far from where he works, and he has about 8 aftershocks under his belt so far, but he is holding his own, and we can't wait for him to get home!

Introducing....

Well here is a pic of my friend Theresa and Rashad's new little guy, His name is Jayden, he's a brute like Thomas was, 9lbs 3 oz and 21 inches in length! And he's showing off his guns already! Isn't he just adorable?

Doctor's Update

I went to see my doctor today, I have put on another 3 lbs this month! So that makes 11lbs total so far. Everything is fine, the heartbeat is strong and I am measuring just perfect! So she wants to see me back in 3 weeks, and we are really getting close to the end. After that appointment she'll be wanting to see me every week in the month of September! I can't wait!

Looks like my last day at work will be the 15th of August. So it will be nice to have 6 weeks off to spend with Thomas before the new baby comes. Maybe we'll convince Dad to take a few days off too!

And a big Welcome to my friend Theresa's baby...he was born today at 3:13 pm 9lbs, 3oz, and I didn't realize anyone would have a baby almost as big as Thomas!! So Congrats to Theresa and Rashad, the proud parents! I hope to have a pic to post of the new little addition soon!

Busy Weekends

Well we had a busy weekend, but a lot of fun!
Saturday night we went to another concert in the park, a tribute band to the Eagles, with a bunch of friends! Thomas just loved it, he loves being at the park and loves being at the concerts! And of course being the bad mommy that I am, I forgot the camera, but I don't feel bad, because Grandma forgot her camera too! But I know that Wendy got some pics of Thomas and Amanda together, so I'm sure she'll forward them on and we'll get them posted!
Amanda is 1 month older than Thomas and they are so adorable together. They danced together and it was adorable to see her reach out to hold Thomas' hand!

Then on Sunday we were shopping and more shopping. And then we got to go to a new park! And of course, once again, bad mommy forgot the camera, and it was so cute, he would climb up the slide, then lay on his belly and slide down and all the way down saying "WEEEEEEE" so I'll try and get that on video in the next few days!

Ultrasound Updates

We had our 4th ultrasound on Friday. The baby is presenting at 3 lbs 10 oz. So he's still little for now, but just like Thomas, he has a big head and a big belly! Means he's smart and can eat a lot! haha Anyway, I am as big as I am because I have a TON of fluid! So this baby is swimming already, and trust me I can attest to that! So hoping that lower carbs will help with the amount of aminiotic fluid I have! We go back again in 4 weeks for yet another ultrasound, so keep checking back. We didn't get any 3d pics this time, but a couple of regular ones of his face...looks like he's blowing bubbles! Well with as much fluid as I have, he could be!

More Teeth!!

We have more teeth! Thomas had 3 new teeth just pop the surface! No wonder he's been so cranky! =) Two more on the bottom and one of his 1st year molars on the top! Stay tuned for pics, if he'll let us get any! So that makes a total of 9 teeth so far!

We have another ultrasound tomorrow and should have some really neat pics, and updates! So stayed tuned!

Okay last updates, I promise! haha

Well I went to the doc again yesterday, she said she is willing to let me go back to work on Monday, but one little issue and she wants me home until the baby is born. So in the last 3 weeks I have put on not a single pound. I'm 7 months pregnant and only put on 8 lbs! Where that is good for me, I worry about the baby. But the doc says she is not concerned, I am measuring right, the baby is growing and we go for yet another ultrasound on the 18th! So we'll see just how much he is growing! So I will be back at work starting on Monday!

Okay one more video....
Thomas is learning to use his fork, or should I say he's LEARNED how to use his fork! The funny thing is...he hates juice of any kind, but yet when I give him fruit, like pineapple, he chews and chews and sucks the juice out of it and then he spits it out for another piece! It's quite entertaining, yet messy!

4th of July!! We went to another concert in the park, we saw Platinum Groove, and Thomas seemed to really like them. We have pics and videos....he saw his 1st fireworks and he was in awe! I can't wait until next year!

Now if Holidays aren't good for eating junk food when you are a kid....he liked the cupcake, actually he just liked the frosting! Thanks Wendy!!

All this partying is tiring! I better catch a nap before the fireworks!

Well since the Doc had me on Medical leave from work, we got to go to the old LA Farmer's Market with Grandma. I remember going when I was a kid, but it is nothing like it is today! So he had a ton of fun...anything to get out of the house!!

He liked to watch the dancing fountain, I told him it's nothing like the one in Vegas, but he was only 6 months old when he saw that, so he wants to go again just to make sure!

Playing in the water, anything with water, he just loves....maybe he'll be an olympic swimmer or something!

He ate breakfast at the farmer's market and he wouldn't give up the spoon, now we know why....he wanted to wash it!!

Ohh lookie what I found....pics from Father's Day that I never posted, isn't that nice! haha Opps.

Well for Father's Day we went to a concert in the park, we saw "Surfin Safari", a Beach Boys tribute band! We saw them last year when Thomas was just a few months old, and he loved it even more this year. Between hangin out with Dad and playin and dancing, he was just hamming it up!! I think he may be an actor or a comedian when he gets older!!

And then we took him to the races at Ventura Raceway. We watch the Sprint cars and we even went to see the Motorcycles, that's when he saw Cher....and he was not impressed haha. Anyway, he loves to watch the cars. He claps and points, I am thinking he secretly is placing bets with his bookie through hand signals!

Okay so I've slacked again, but I have all kinds of pics and news to share and everything....so we'll start with some of the oldest stuff first!

Goofing around with mom on the couch, he now knows how to get on the couch, now if we can just teach him to SIT on the couch! He's such a ham!!

Here we were goofing around on the patio with his bucket of water....it's more fun than a barrel full of monkeys!! Look at that curly Hair....Thomas would like to thank his Grandma for that!
