Our 1st Ultrasound

We had our first ultrasound on Friday! Unfortunately they wouldn't even guess at the sex. We were hoping! The tech told us with Thomas at 12 weeks that she thought it was a boy. But this time she wouldn't guess and the doctor wouldn't even venture a guess. So we go back on May 2nd and we should find out then! As for everything else, the baby is normal and growing fine, about 2 1/2 inches long so far! Hard to believe he/she will grow to be at least 20 inches by birth! We not only saw the heartbeat but we got to hear it too! It truly is a miracle and I am thrilled and blessed to be able to have not one but two miracles!! September can't come soon enough!

Let's see, in other news, Thomas is over his nasty cold, not that it ever slowed him down! But now the poor little guy is bringing in MORE new teeth. So he was a little uncomfy today but still his happy little self! And he said his first word....y'all will never guess....nope not Mama, or Dada.....I will give you a hint...he is definitely my son....any guesses? Yep that's right he said KITTY! So we are looking forward to any more new words he wants to say that he actually knows what they mean. I mean he's been saying mama and dada since he was 4 months old, but as soon as he looks at me and says Momma, then we will consider it a word!

Look for pics of the ultrasound on Wednesday as we had just two pics and left them at someones house! What can I say, it's the pregnancy brain!

HOPPY EASTER!

Thomas' first Easter was a whole lot of fun! We tried some new things, got some really neat toys and we finally got a video of Thomas blowing his horn!

We had a taste of chocolate pudding today, he wasn't too sure of it considering the color, he looked at the spoon, pulled his head away as I put it up to his lips and looked at both me and dad as if to say "Yeah right, that looks like it came out of my diaper" But once he had a little bite, he thought it was pretty good! He also tried the outer part of a corn dog and thought that was pretty good too!

We went to Grandma's for Easter dinner and he tried some of Grandma's sparkling jello. Not the jello that he is used to but he enjoyed it all the same.

Sometimes I think my son is too smart for his own good! We keep seeing what he is really learning, retaining and knowing on a daily basis. He has known how to open cabinets for quite some time, but I noticed today that he knows how to peel tape off things, and he climbed up Grandma's stairs!!! He thought that was pretty fun, but coming down he didn't think was all that great!

Anyway, here is the video of him playing his horn and a couple pics from Today!

Hope y'all had a great Easter!

Being sick is no fun!

Well Thomas has his 1st official cold. All the other times he's had a runny nose and such has just been due to teething. But not this time, he has a wretched cough, and we took him to the doctor yesterday. He has something of "the croup" but the doc wouldn't call it that exactly! But he has a really dry painful sounding cough. And he has some fluid in the ears. So the doc has recommended "steam baths" before bed as well as a warm steam vaporizer in his bedroom. We did that last night, and he seemed to sleep a whole lot better after about 11pm. He is still hoarse this morning but seems a little bit better. So let's hope he just continues to improve.

I really like our doctor because he isn't quick to give meds out. So aside from some tylenol for discomfort, we have an all natural remedy! But despite all of it, he is still the happiest baby!! He really is only fussy when he's tired. If it weren't for the cough, you'd never know he was sick! So let's hope he feels better in time for the Easter bunny to come! I'll keep you posted on how he's doing!

Sunday afternoon at the park

It ended up being the perfect day for the park!! So Thomas had his 1st time on the playground. We had a lot of fun, and he loved the swing! He wasn't sure about the slide, But as long as Mommy went down with him he was okay! But the swing...he laughed and laughed and wanted to just go higher! And despite, mommy's nausea and daddy's sickness we had a really good time. It's so nice that the time has changed, and the weather is nice, we'll be able to take him to the park after work!

Look at that smile!!!
Push me Higher Daddy!! HIGHER!!!

I'm not to sure about that slide thing!

Check it out, you can actually see his top two teeth!

I think he was waving to the cute little girl playing on the merry go round!

Doctors, Doctors and more Doctors

Well both Thomas and I had doctor's appointments yesterday.

Thomas is 21 lbs and 28 1/4 inches tall. He is average for his height and in the 75% for his weight! He has 4 teeth with one more on the way soon. The doctor says he is healthy and he's even more handsome now then he was when he was born! He said he has hit all his milestones and may even be slightly advanced on some. We didn't have any shots (YAY!) and we won't need anymore until he's a year. In a few weeks we are going to start him on some new foods, eggs and yogurt and cottage cheese. Should prove interesting. And here's a little tid bit of info he told me, 60% of all children are lactose intolerant, that seems really high, but oh well. I hope he can tolerate the milk, because I sure loved it as a kid!

Now onto my doctor's appointment. All the blood work is normal, I lost 3 lbs, which she isn't going to be too concerned about until after I am 12 weeks. She told me that some of the pains I was having are just do to normal stretching of the scar tissue and such, and should be subsiding. So aside from the occasional nausea I am hanging in there. She said I look great but of course I think she says that to everyone! I get my 1st ultrasound on the 28th of March, so stay tuned for info and pics from that. We will have another ultrasound at 20 weeks and that will tell us that the heart is healthy and has 4 chambers but most importantly, we'll find out what we're having! So keep checking back!

Can you believe it.....9 Months

Okay so we are over the 9 month mark. I am not sure on the height or weight, we go to the doc on Wednesday! So I'll keep you posted on that!

Let's see, we are a busy busy boy! Aside from crawling we are walking while holding on to everything and can even stand for a few by himself. He will walk with you if you hold one hand, he's not the most graceful but it's coming along!

Now that he has 4 teeth with a 5th on the way, (which he won't let you see, he covers them with his tongue) He is always trying new foods, this past week we had Mac n Cheese and he just loved that, lots of fun to watch him gum that to death! And he loves Jello, he cries when it's all gone! He is growing in leaps and bounds and changing so quick, but of course, he will aways be my little boy!!

His favorite hobby is chasing the kitties all over the house! Of course they don't always find that fun but they never turn to hiss or swat at him either!

We had 9 month pics done and you can see them if you click HERE, then enter ERIN BURKE for the customer name and viola, you can click to see all his pics! He really doesn't care for professional shots, but we always manage to get a few super cute smiles from him! And not to mention a few pouts!

In other news, we have a couple of people that we know who will be induced tomorrow, one with a csection, both with little girls, so Good Luck Maile and Brooke! We're thinkin of you!
