Well I am serving my civic duty today and sitting in the Ventura County Court Jury Services room, and I am able to catch up on my reading. I subscribe to
http://www.whattoexpect.com/ and they send me weekly newsletters and such and I learn some really interesting stuff on there. For example, look at the following pic and then read what I read below....

This is what they said when it comes to babies and messes....
"First off, don't worry — a little dirt won't hurt. Babies love to make messes, and they learn by touching (and tasting) everything they can get their little paws on. So give your baby as much freedom as possible to let his fingers do the feeling. Since you actually want your child to put food in his mouth, why not let him smear rice cereal all over his high-chair tray — not to mention in his hair? It's a fun, safe sensory experience (go on, try it, Mom!). He'll be having such a good time that he won't mind you spooning in a few bites while he plays, and he'll be taking his first baby steps toward learning to feed himself.
Away from the high chair, recognize that little ones are washable (and so are their clothes). If he crawls into a mud puddle or upends a bag of flour on the kitchen floor, let him enjoy the experiment for a while, then scoop him up and clean him off (but don't forget to take some pictures first!)."
So I guess I did a good thing, because he not only had sweet potatoes in his nose and hair but crusted on his eye lashes! HAHAHA It was a whole lot of fun and as you can see from the smile on his face, he had fun too! And it's a good thing I had the camera ready!
So stayed tuned for more "Messy baby" pictures in the future!!
