Tricking and Treating....

It was my first Halloween, and what fun it was!
Okay so I didn't get to actually go trick or treating, but I did go over to Grandma's house and I got to see and hang out with my friend Amanda, she was a Panda Bear, and she's so cute! I on the other hand outgrew my pea pod so I was a pumpkin, and Mommy went as a black cat, is anyone surprised? So despite a runny nose, I toughed it out and played with Amanda, I can tell we're just going to be the best of friends!

Now tell me Amanda and I aren't just adorable!!!
You know it was so funny, I had made a comment that Thomas likes to grab and poke and doesn't really know how to "be nice" yet. He grabs grandma's dog's hair and they cry, he tries to grab the kitties tails as they walk by and so when we put the two of them down together I said "we'll just have to watch Thomas, he likes to grab....so he grabbed her ear on her costume.....
And Amanda wasn't having that, so she took charge!! It was so entertaining to watch the two of them interact, they are a month apart in age!

My 1st Pumpkin...

My first trip to the Pumpkin Patch.....I can't believe how many pumpkins there are, how can anyone choose just one? Can I take all these that you see next to me??
Okay do you think if I sit real still I might blend in? Probably not huh? Well only in California can you go to the pumpkin patch in October wearing your Hawaiian tank top and shorts, I had my sandals on, but I wanted to feel the hay on my feet, so I kicked them off!! This is the pumpkin we ended up with....I think it looks pretty good don't you? It's nice and fat and round and it will carve really nice! Dad wanted to get me a HUGE one, one that when it was carved I could sit in it, but the guy at the pumpkin patch said it was a cute idea but he would need a sawzall in order to carve it, so dad passed it up. Oh well, maybe next year HAHA
Look at our carved pumpkin, just a plain ole jack-o-lantern, good job Mom and Dad!
The pumpkin inspector was in town, checking out our work, he's a tough critic, but I think we might pass!
Great job on the carving Mom and Dad, it's really cute....but so not even close to being scary!! Better luck next year, I can't wait to get my hands in all that gushy stuff inside to help out!!

Update on the Fires

Well we still have a ton of fires burning, the good news is, the winds are dying down. The weather seems to be getting warmer, it's about 84degrees. The smoke in the air is just horrible. See the below pics....these are taken from the same spot on the patio as the other ones from the other day. So as you can see the smoke isn't as thick, but it's just as bad. I think we don't even smell the smoke anymore since it's been in the area for so long. You go outside and come in and your clothes smell like you've been hanging around a bonfire! Well that's the price you pay to live in Sunny California!! As I said on my last post, let's hope that all the fireman/woman come home to their families safe!

Fires, Fires, and more fires....

Don't we all just love this time a year. We have Fires surrounding us in all directions....Malibu, Castaic Lake, Chatsworth....it's just never ending! Let's hope they don't get to close to us here. But it has ruined our view of the mountains, and we have ashes blowing all over....see the pics below. Lot's of evacuations The winds are still blowing, some gusts up to at least 50mph is what I've heard. They are saying the winds are expected to keep up until at least tomorrow morning. So I am hoping that all the fireman/woman who are battling these blazes go home safe! For the time being we are all safe, and I'll keep y'all posted!

To go to school or not to go to school....

Well I have officially put in my request for information from Pepperdine University to go back to school to get my Master's in Psychology. My mom put the bee in my bonette, and after looking into it, it will only take me 2 1/2 years to get it, that's working fulltime and going part time to school, and most importantly being a full time mom. I am a little nervous, it's been 13 years since I graduated college, wow does that show my age or what? But I think I could do really well, if they will have me! Who would have thought that a degree in psychology would take me to Insurance!! It really helps though, dealing with people in an everyday setting, but I'd like to see where a Master's might take me, and I know my biggest little fan club, (Thomas, Steven and always my #1 fan, my mom) will be there to cheer me on when I don't think I can do it! I will have less than a year to prepare myself, but in the long run I think it will be time well spent!
So I'll keep y'all posted as to what I find out!

The Most Precious Gift

I have titled my blog Life's little miracles, because the most precious gift ever given to me is my son! Those of you who know me best know that this is what I have always wanted, and it shows! And like the song says, "never give up on your dreams"! After reading and seeing my cousins blog I decided this is such a great way to keep in contact with everyone and let everyone know what's going on with me, Steven and of course, the reason for the blog....Thomas! So check back often to see what we are up to! Don't worry I will still be sending out Thomas' monthly pics on Kodak share, I know y'all can't live without my captions!!
